I am now offering editing and other writing-mentorship services to a small number of clients.
From proof-reading and ‘another pair of eyes’, to full-on editing or story development, if you’re in need of assistance with a piece of fiction or creative non-fiction, send me a message and we can discuss. Rates start from just £20.
Maybe you’re struggling to hit a word count for a competition entry?
Perhaps you know there’s something great in what you’re writing but it’s got lost among a forest of words?
Got a great idea for a story premise but can’t see how it could develop into a plot?
Whatever the issue, let’s talk it through.
(And why me? Well, I’ve written – at the last count – approaching a million words of fiction. In the past couple of years – since 2019 – I’ve been published in the Mechanics Institute Review, have been highly commended in the Seán Ó’Faoláin Short Story Prize; been shortlisted for the Benedict Kiely Short Story Competition; been published by Reflex Press, Storgy, Dodo Ink, Lunate Fiction, Ellipsis Zine, and Strix magazine, among others; I’ve written a film script which was turned into a short film; I’ve worked as a freelance editor to creative agencies; I’ve helped fellow authors develop plots and have written blurbs for ad campaigns and artists’ exhibitions. And in the past I’ve run a highly successful magazine publishing company. I’ll treat your words with respect and imagination, and will get them back to you quickly and within agreed timescales.)
